My name is Sjoerd Boersma and I'm a Masterstudent in Mathematics. Last and next year I'm a member of the Faculty Council of the Science Faculty. Three years ago I was Treasurer for A-Eskwadraat. I think it's important the students are heard and taken seriously, and not treated like they're just commodities to the university. The financial difficulties in the Science Faculty are quite disturbing, but they come with opportunities: I think we can achieve a better faculty and university, with more openness on finance and policy making, a fair distribution of money and resources, and the same world class education and research.
